I respectfully disagree. I don't think those that walked out were wrong, but nor do I think those that stayed did either. I understand the impulse to ensure the Felon in Chief's words were not normalized. However, I also understand the preference to witness in opposition. YMMV.

We moved abroad and dramatically downscaled beforehand. Depending on where you go, other than some sentimental pieces (a few boxes) and photo albums, almost everything could have been replaced here (UK) for the price we moved it or less..

We did become expats- two households, two generations to the UK. We investigated UK citizenship by double descent after the 2016 as my adult daughter did not feel safe in the US. We made here in 2023.

Dad used to say, "do what you want as all they can do is kill you and eat you. " It really made me think about the worst outcome, and then more clearly assess the likelihood instead of just worrying and being uncertain about taking a stance/action.
