I teach Geology and Geography classes, and I bring to class two ice cream cakes with a geological map on top. Geological maps only indicate outcrops on the surface and do not show subterranean layers. To understand what is below the surface, the cake needs to be eaten 😋

The architecture is so old and the entire City of Halifax is steeped in history. The oldest graveyard in Halifax (The Old Burying Ground) is situated right next to some of the Engineering buildings, and the Halifax Courthouse is also nearby.

Just had a beautiful day wandering around the City of Halifax - a beautiful city with an immense history. I visited the Citadel, an old British fort built out of ironstone and granite on a hill formed as a drumlin via glaciofluvial processes during the last glaciation.

Exploring the beautiful Dalhousie University
campus today for the first time. Unlike some campus locations, Dal has a symbiotic relationship with Halifax: the city is a part of the campus and the campus is an inseparable part of the city. Old-World architecture meets North America.
