Hegseth claims to have found religion. But the pastor of his “church” teaches that sexual violence is women’s fault for not being submissive enough. Over the top misogyny. Unfit for any office.

Pete Hegseth's mother begged him to "get some help" — instead, he joined a grossly misogynist church

Joe Biden ran for president opposing the death penalty.
In his Sunday address, Pope Francis, who has called for the abolition of the death penalty, prayed that the sentences of death row inmates in the United States be commuted or changed. Commute the row!!

We too often forget the disruptive impact of incarceration on the children of those we lock away. We need to rethink our carceral system and not simply rely on the occasional program to maintain familial ties.

The state’s Republican leaders say they’re primed for Texas to be both the model and epicenter as the incoming administration cracks down on immigration.
The only thing Texas exemplifies is reckless cruelty. We have sunk so low and I fear that Texas will only sink us to new lows.

Biden needs to make good on his promise to stop the federal death penalty. Commute the federal row.
Remember Trump 1.0’s death row killing spree? It’s not too late to stop the sequel.
Biden's pardoning of the turkeys today is emblematic of his use of the pardon power more generally. He has opted for symbolic press events that haven't benefited real people. He still has time to remedy that legacy, and I hope he will. www.nytimes.com/2024/09/18/o...
