That’s Broken Foot in the middle, her mate on the right, and another male (?) on the left. Possibly an offspring? 🌿 🐺 #mammals

This is one of the lake beavers. They’ve been really busy in the last few weeks. I found one tree cut down not 30 feet from the house. I’ve wrapped trees I particularly want to save. Everything else can be theirs. 🌿 🦫

I highly recommend it for both the fascinating natural history of the Blakiston’s fish owl and for the harrowing adventure that comes with doing field research in the harsh remote environment of the Russian Far East. 🪶 🌿 🦉

5 out of 10 isn’t terrible (well it kind of is) but really, this is where we need decent AI. Imagine finally sorting & making searchable your decades of digital photos in mins? Honestly, “sort my photos” is my idea of an AI revolution.

This is a pic from the live cell-cam on the beaver carcass. That’s a fisher! The arrow points at the beav. In the video (which I posted at The Bad Place), you see the fisher drag the entire carcass into the brush! I’m going to have to go move both cams or the beav (🤢) later.
