It was an amazing vibe. We'd been up since 5am, travelling from 6am, walking since 7am. Got to Parliament area around 1pm and sat down. Heard a baby cry for the first time that day. It was as tho all the babies were lulled by the vibe of the hikoi all day. Magic. Yes, peace.

This pakeha was at the hikoi too (and the one in 2004). Also on a Kapiti train. Agree with everything you have said, esp " a glimpse of the country as we want it to be: diverse, respectful and Maori-led". We have so much to learn from Maori.
