Dreamed of riding a luxury train through the Canadian Rockies? It’s a marvelous experience. And Canada is still absolutely a delight. I can confirm no American wines available at the restaurants. But they still like us just fine.

First step of the kitchen restoration done today. Servpro of Shoreline did a great job. They saved everything possible and left it all clean. It shouldn’t matter but in these times I want to point out that they are all Hispanic and one is female. We are totally satisfied with their work.

No, we haven’t installed a lab in our house bc the government is shutting down important scientific research.

Just removing water damage in the kitchen. Ugh.

Call your congressional representatives to tell them your concerns that scientific research is being shut down and disappearing.

Growing out a really bad haircut is almost as painful as watching our democracy being dismantled.

Being a grown ass adult means knowing that caffeine at 3 pm is a bad idea and also no one will stop you.

When religious leaders are condemned by Congress for asking for mercy for the most vulnerable, we have truly lost free speech. #HR59

Harrison Ford.
Now a Disney legend. And also wears a kilt in a recent ad campaign. Adore him.

Heartbroken at the plane crash in my hometown. All the politics aside, simply awful for the families and loved ones.

Button Blanket seen at the Anthropology Museum at UBC in Vancouver, Canada. Lovely example of the symbolism of community in textiles.

What an amazing collection of thoughts and words Dr. King left us. Letter from a Birmingham Jail should be read by every American.

On this MLK Day, I am pondering this quote.

Looks like I need to start using BlueSky more as Meta makes additional changes. So if you are interested in books, travel, radical inclusiveness as well as mundane life habits, let’s interact.

Christmas 2024 was my year of Christmas markers. Finished out with the Seattle Christmas market with family. They made fun of me constantly comparing it to German markets, but it was fun to share the stories from my trip. #seattlechristmas2024
