So, they removed everything but the studs cause it had damp/mould and built a box. Why couldn't they repair what was damaged? Cause they never wanted the old house.

Nope. UGLY. If you want a modern house, then build a new one.

I've been saying forever- "If you don't like old houses, don't buy an old house". They turned a cute cottage into a crappy box.
