It’s one of those things I regret quite a bit but also there wasn’t really a good solution with how toxic interacting wirh my parents was at the time. (My mom would get upset very easily, and then my dad would scream at me….)

Families are really complicated

AWH…. I had lots of similar moments like this with my mom after I moved out. I basically didn’t give her any life updates after I moved out and there were so many times she was visibly sad she didn’t know (major dental treatment, drivers license)
