Another way to display embroidery that’s not hooped. I buy these wooden things at thrift stores for under a buck, paint them. Cut out cardboard the same size, block the piece over it then glue on. #embroidery #fibersarts #kimbroidery

Sneak peek of Louie! I have a special place in my heart for orange kitties. They remind me of Milo, a stray who walked in the back door of my house like he belonged. My husband who is now a professed cat guy says that Milo was his “gateway cat” 😁 #embroidery #kimbroidery #fiberarts #threadpainting

Line art embroidery was my gateway drug to thread painting pets. It's so easy. Just trace the outline of the pet, then stitch. I like DMC pearl 12 since it's similar to using 3 strands of floss without the fuss. #embroidery #fiberarts #petportraits #kimbroidery

Adding in the fiddly bits….tiny stitches in the hill. For those that asked, I used a Frixion erasable pen to draw the pattern, and I’ll use a hairdryer to remove the lines. Then I’ll add in the colors with acrylic markers like the shops on the right. #embroidery #edinburgh #kimbroidery
