No, doesn't get any easier. We've had/have 8 over the last 28 years, 2 are still with us (2 & 6 yo). The last 2 that passed really hurt but again we miss them all dearly. Part of having a family member that only lives around 15 years.
And got to say we love dogs and will always have at least 2.
