This poor guy (I’m calling Wall-E due to the resemblance) was sent to me in error by eBay seller. (Was mean to be a trinocular American optical series 4). Got a full refund, but thought I’d do practice restoration rather than sending him to the junk heap. #vintage #microscope #restoration

Apparently this antique all brass Wetzlar microscope was in a fire. It’s badly damaged, but I’m still going to try and restore it as a display piece. So far its been polished and the mirror assembly is back in place with a donor mirror. #microscope #antique #brass

When does a collection become an obsession? Surely thirty something microscopes is fine right. I definitely need more.
