Giraffe are most vulnerable when they take a drink. I had the honor of seeing this up close - in a hide at Zimanga Private Game Reserve in South Africa (June 2024). What a stunning creature!

The photo shows a Cape giraffe (South African giraffe) stretched down and drinking water. With its long neck, it must widen its legs and lower its head in an uncomfortable-looking manner. They are very vulnerable when they take a drink!

The white rhino was poached almost into extinction but #soliogamereserve, w/highly successful breeding program, has helped 2restart many game reserves throughout Africa. I was fortunate 2spend time there in June. What a phenomenal reserve w/stunning lodges & incredible guides!

The bomb cyclone and crazy winds in the PNW really created a lot of debris, downed power lines and downed trees in our little neighborhood. It’s the worst I’ve seen here in my 30+ years!
Destruction from PNW storms - downed trees, downed power lines, debris, etc. Snapped power pole, downed lines, destruction and debris from recent bomb cyclone and PNW storms. Audubon Elementary school with downed trees and power lines in front. Also, a lot of storm debris. Trees, fences, power lines - all downed from the recent storms in the PNW.

I was incredibly lucky to observe this yawning hippo in the Kazinga Channel in Uganda. What a magical place!
