What LRADs do They emit extremely loud, focused sound (tones or voice commands). The "warning tone" can cause pain, disorientation, nausea, and temporary hearing issues if you're close. It's intended for crowd dispersal, not lethal force. Why it looks like that The big round dish on the back is the acoustic emitter, and the square front opening is the directional speaker. This is characteristic of LRAD systems like the LRAD 100X or LRAD 450XL.
