The school day and the school year haven’t been lengthened, yet teachers must now teach emerging technology skills to prepare students for the 21st Century. Something had to go to make room in the school day. Other than learning a basic signature, cursive is no longer relevant.

As a student at a Catholic grade school in PA during the 1960s, I suffered through 40 minutes a school day of making “ovals with tails” and other strokes over and over again while the nun walked around watching our progress. . . over twenty-five hours my life spent on perfecting each letter. 1/2
