the fossils are absolutely worth the trip, but i worry how much may have been taken down for censorship purposes (climate change, questionable history of anthropology, etc). there’s so much too see there, and i can’t even imagine what wonderful knowledge is held in the archives. here’s my fav rock!

how it started vs how it’s going!

3 months of shrimp keeping has been amazing so far and i’m thrilled with the growth my tank is showing. i started with 11 orange pumpkins (and later 11 blue dreams), we now have TONS of babies! can’t wait to see what another 3 months looks like!

i’ve got so many gorgeous wild types in my shrimp tank now, and they keep having more babies! it’s wonderful to see how many i have, but i’m so scared of sucking them up into the siphon when i do water changes (i thoroughly search my buckets afterwards for stowaways, don’t worry!)

of all the work i did as a studio aid at my university ceramics studio, the test tile wall is my proudest (and most satisfying) achievement.

i selected and tested each glaze, then mixed 20 gallons worth of each of the nine glazes, and made the test tiles by hand using our class reclaim.

i also have a crow buddy!! they absolutely love peanuts, and its so exciting to build a rapport with them

They Will Call You Violent If your tactics disrupt the order of things under capitalism, you may well be accused of violence, because "violence" is an elastic term of. ten deployed to vilify people who threaten the status quo. Conditions that the state characterizes as "peaceful" are, in reality, quite violent. Even as people experience the violence of poverty, the torture of imprisonment, the brutality of policing, the denial of health care, and many other violent functions of this system, we are told we are experiencing peace, so long as everyone is cooperating. When state actors refer to "peace," they are really talking about order. And when they refer to "peaceful protest," they are talking about cooperative protest that obediently stays within the lines drawn by the state. The more uncooperative you are, the more you will be accused of aggression and violence. It is therefore imperative that the state not be the arbiter of what violence means among people seeking justice.

Know your protest rights: 1. You don't need a permit to protest in response to breaking news and you don't need a permit to march in the streets or along sidewalks, as long as you're not obstructing traffic or access to buildings. 2. When you are lawfully present in any public space, you have the right to photograph anything in plain view, including federal buildings and the police. 3. If you believe your rights have been violated, when you can, write down everything you remember, get contact information for witnesses, and take photographs of any injuries. 4. If you get stopped by the police, ask if you're free to go. If they say yes, you have the right to walk away. 5. If you get arrested, you have a right to ask why. Otherwise, say you wish to remain silent and ask for a lawyer immediately. Don't sign, say or agree to anything without a lawyer present. Know your protest rights. ACLU

in honor of pride month, a double rainbow 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

pride must continue to be a demand for recognition and equity, not just a party where corporations temporarily cater to us to get our money. never forget that this movement was sparked by the hard work of those who had no other choice but to fight.
