Lots (lots) of running, dawn swimming, utility cycling and teaching mathematics. Three out of four of those together with my black Lab. Manchester, UK. www.strava.com/athletes/killianobrien
On this morning's long run, checking out parts of the route for December's marathon. As suspected, canal and footpath still officially closed near Dunham Massey. They're going to have to do adjust the route a bit.

Some recent running snaps.

What would Jesus do?

No sunrise on this morning's run, too cloudy and misty. But the M60 floodlights beyond the lake kinda make up for it.

Dawn, dawnier, dawniest.

Just another early morning run-swim outing along the Mersey and in Sale Water Park this morning for Juno, the black Lab, and me.

Haha. I was about to post this but you beat me to it.

A shot of the morning sky and beach at Lowestoft, when I was there on Saturday.

Good stuff. I was in my local lake in Manchester this morning. (That's my dog about to swim into my left ear!) Was also in Dublin at the Forty Foot and Vico Road a couple of weeks ago. My lake is still a couple of degrees warmer than the Irish Sea. Their temps will cross over at some stage.

A nice sun rising behind Stretford House during my 10 mile run this morning. Taking it easy through the week now in the lead up to Saturday's 50km race on the Suffolk Coastal Path from Lowestoft to Aldeburgh.

This morning's pre-breakfast time trial was nicely productive. Good to be continuing to get faster, in this my 50th year.

Home holiday heaven. In the shade at the back of the garden, snoozing lab at my feet, reading the LRB in between my own snoozes. Legs deliciously masochistally aching from this morning's 200m speed intervals. And then yin-yanging it to the max with the imbibing of some ferociously strong espresso.

Mosaics along the Bridgewater Canal in Sale.

Great. I grew up near there and swam many times at the Forty Foot and still try to whenever I'm back. That morning I took the photo of Casement I was on an early run and ran by the Forty Foot and then on to the Vico Road swim spot for a quick mid-run swim.

There's a fine statue of him put up on the coast in Dun Laoghaire in Dublin a few years ago. Took this pic in 2023.

Cool, great to see him benefiting from the LTNs. Our three all started on this type of balance bike and graduated to pedal bikes with ease and continue to love cycling. Here is our youngest, then six years old, confidently making her own way through downtown Rotterdam, along with the rest of us.

Oh yeah, I'd give this chap all my money, for sure.

Passing 50 miles towards the end.

I ran 87.6 km around a track on Saturday. My mind just about feels normal again. The quads might take a day or two longer. #ultrarunning

A recent May early morning swim with Juno.

This morning's early lake swim sky. Current streak stretches to 19 days, but will probably break tomorrow. So lucky having this a short walk from me. Find your local jewels.

Just re-watched it now after seeing your post. There's a nice snippet of the two of them singing at the piano near the start. I've always really liked Series of Dream's. Daniel Lanois' production much in evidence in the galloping sweeping vibe of it I think.

A little speed, a little grit, and a whole heap of sugary snacks = 65km and 1000m elevation gain around Heaton Park in the 8-hour Ultra Loop by Resolute Running on Saturday. A stepping stone to longer things later in the year hopefully ....

Mine had highland cattle in it. Heaton Park, Manchester.
