we already know social media is toxic but that + podcasts (especially daily podcasts) made this all so much worse because the need to find takes and all caps words to game the algorithm for max engagement leads people’s brains to change in ways we still haven’t understood much less recovered from
Nobody actually cares about basketball. Like, we do, but the collective population doesnt, never has, never will. These human stories are interesting. We can get the whole nation into a random Olympic swimmer with one mini featurette and a few articles. NBA media stopped even trying a decade ago.
