Today our super GL had the pleasure of meeting Uachtarán na hÉireann / President of Ireland Catherine Connolly to receive his Gaisce Gold Award. In attendance from Scouting Ireland was Sean Sheehan (CEO) & Eoin (Chief Scout). There were 50+ awardees, 6 of which were from Scouting Ireland. Bravo Tom!

For our last regular scout meeting of 2025, we played a game that was a twist on snatch the bacon, we made paracord turks head woggles and monkey fist keyrings, and finally eveyone received badges.

When you ask the scouts what they want to make during pioneering practice…
Today a group of scouts, ventures and leaders hiked up Lugnaquilla the highest peak in Leinster.
The conditions were mixed. Visibility was variable.
For a number of the group this meant that they had climbed all 4 provincial peaks this year. For some it was their first provincial peak. Bravo all!

On Saturday our Cubs had a big adventure including a train journey to Maynooth, visit to the playground, night hike back, movie night and sleepover! Bravo Cubs and thanks to all who made it possible!

Bravo to Fionn & Gearóid on being awarded the Certificate & Badge for completing 2025 Venture Challenge. They walked 100km & did projects. Then assessments & craic at base camp. Thanks all involved in making this fab adventure possible esp the Challenge Team & everyone who helped the lads en route.

One of the things we tell our members from Beavers up is once a scout always a scout! Here is living proof! One of our former scouts, currently living abroad, has just completed the West Highland Way in Scotland covering 154km over 6 days 🥾🇮🇪🏴. Bravo H!

Today we did our second training hike ahead of Carrauntoohil in October. Weather was a bit soft but a great day on the hills and we rounded it off with some birthday cake.

Early this morning 6 of our Rovers flew out to Hungary/Slovakia to participate in the Explorer belt 2025. It’s a 10 day expedition 200km trek. During it they will be doing projects, meeting with locals and all with limited resources. Best of luck, be safe folks & we can’t wait to hear all about it!
