Relistened to a hard electronic and ambient album titled "Dark Rain" that's based on the shoot 'em up DoDonPachi DaiOuJou. I really enjoy the harsh noise that washes you away, but there are also some calm, whimsical and generally energising parts. It's really both intense and calming.

One of the best Castlevania arrangements I've heard is based on “Mad Forest” from Castlevania III. It's incredibly funky and I really like the piano and the record scratches which are a great touch. It makes me excited. Thank Joshua Morse for creating it. Link to the full version is in the replies.

In October, my musical mission was all about Castlevania via both official and unofficial arrangements of its music. I looked back on many of the ones I like and most importantly discovered a lot of them that I hadn't heard before!

Listened to more albums and EPs for the first time in July, August and September! Overall I listened to more nano and electronic music; tried atmospheric musique concrète e.g. tracks by Hildegard Westerkamp; and delved into more soundtracks which came from Panty & Stocking, Necronomico and Turkey!

The stars aligned and I both met and got signatures from two of my favourite artists this year: TECHNOuchi and nano. I also liked them for many years prior. Though it'd be good to see who I want to see in countries that are further away, rather than only going to places close by.

Completed Turkey! — An unhinged emotional roller coaster that successfully combines drama; tension; good character development; and goofiness. The music by Yuuki Hayashi is also incredible. It was a blast watching it mostly weekly while waiting for the next episode. #turkey_anime

Continuing my quest to rebuild America in Death Stranding. This will be a slow burn. The story is already promising with themes of hope and the need for connecting with wider society. Traversal across the map is somewhat entrancing. I also enjoy giving as many likes as possible to player signs.

Listened to the Necronomico and the Cosmic Horror Show soundtrack by Evan Call. I like the dance club-like music that's featured and I'll listen to those tracks more. The one that plays at the end of episode 1 is the most iconic one in my opinion. The music definitely makes me like the series more!

Finished BanG Dream! It's MyGO!!!!! It's a consistently well-written drama with a good emotional core about expressing yourself and continuing to live despite failing to connect with people sometimes. It was interesting to watch the characters lose their minds too. Anime is good.

Absolute banger victory music

Watching BanG Dream! It's MyGO? Nah, I think I'll play Ridge Racer. Now this is gaming.

When it comes to rating anime out of 10, it seems inevitable that your average rating goes down the more you watch. However, my average on MyAnimeList has increased recently and I feel like I'm giving 8/10 more nowadays. I think it's a combination of feeling happier and watching good works.

Completed Gundam 0079 as my first Gundam. It was always interesting and it was great to follow the White Base crew as they became stronger people. I definitely want to watch more of the franchise.
The next long mecha series I'm watching is Ideon however, whenever that happens!

Listened to the first Panty & Stocking soundtrack album. Besides the obvious "Fly Away", the ending theme "Fallen Angel" and "CHOCOLAT" are my favourite songs. Shoutouts to the cool instrumental tracks like “See-Through”. The album is good for dancing too. #PantyAndStocking

New video coming tomorrow.

City has also released its soundtrack today despite it only having a few episodes of it released so far. Is this the start or mere continuation of another trend? #アニメCITY #CITYtheAnimation

Currently 10 episodes into Panty & Stocking and the in-series music video for "D City Rock" is really nice. It's rewarding because the song is used in previous episodes, but I could now hear it all in full. I also like the song's message and the tributes to different artists. #PantyAndStocking

That reminds me of Dia from Love Live!'s arrow hairclips. What's funny about them is that in episode 2, they emphasise her angry facial expression more like they're third and fourth eyes.

Turkey! episode 2 continues the good character drama. I like the humour and how Rina's pettiness generates tension. I also like how the OP gives hints of the characters' traumas and future plot points with a decent song. They're not spoilers, but hooks to keep you intrigued. #turkey_anime

Necronomico episode 3 makes the series' social commentary clearer. The real cosmic horror show is people going mad over an unfavourable society, leading to detachment and apathy. Let's see if the story does something unique with that. We also got more dark club music bangers. #necronomico

Also, the OP song is pleasant and the ED is animated in more doll-like 3D which is pretty interesting.

Kamitsubaki City Under Construction is bleak and slightly trippy based on its first two episodes. The story is a bit cryptic and hard to comment on directly right now, but I vibe with it so far. I think I like the music the best when it's eerie. #kamitsubaki

[...] the music sounds very characteristic of him. There are good energetic tracks suitable for intense competition, but also some which create a specifically cold atmosphere. I wonder how the music will change in future situations the characters end up in.

The first episode of Turkey! is very intense for a first episode given what you might expect from the premise and I kind of love that. This is helped by the music composed by Yuki Hayashi (Boku no Hero Academia, Haikyuu, Kiznaiver) which absolutely stands out. From what I know of his works, [...]

The music is also good. The OP and ED are pretty nice and the score is composed by Evan Call (Frieren, Violet Evergarden, some of Symphogear). His dark electronic tracks during the games are the most notable ones for me so far. They're reminiscent of Danganronpa, which might not be a coincidence.
