A friend of mine described The Black Keys as “domestic beer commercial soundtrack music AKA ‘Bud rawk.’” A clumsy term shouldn’t have stuck, but somehow it did. Man, we all used to spend a lotta time sitting around roasting popular bands. And unlike social media, you can go deep when hating IRL 🗣️🗣️🗣️

Hello from Torrance! I just visited a record store that specializes in City Pop, as well as Japanese imports. (Yes, that 1960s Fender Twin Reverb amp for sale).

Back in 1995, Molson sponsored a “Polar Beach Party” with Metallica, Hole, Moist, Cake, and Veruca Salt in Tuktoyaktuk, NW Territories, Canada (pop 854). Why? To promote Molson Ice. You can’t buy alcohol in the town, which is inaccessible by road. Only 500 contest winners + some locals attended.
