Giving the internet what it wants for the first day of the new year counted 2025: Cats.

Made Omamori for the (western/lunar) new year as gifts for my dojo.

They express the sentiment of 幸せ (shiawase).

The world watches in horror as America eats itself alive with reality tv frauds as they are sane-washed by the MSM.

Have not previously shared art on here.
Here is a painting titled:
The Bone Collector.

Not too recent though I did finally scan the art.

It was inspired by a story my brother shared based on an experience he had post an SCA event.

The Encryptids is a quite good concept. The pin was unexpected given my small membership amount, yet appreciated.

Currently reading my copy of Apostles of Mercy (which is a great call back referenced in the book) and enjoying the hell out of it.

Excellent reading. Recommended for those who like sci-fi with real feeling wrapped around a romance in an alt history.

Another entry in the art supplies of my grandparents is this ArtGum eraser that was purchased probably in the early 1950's. It was found in a small drawer among various drafting supplies used by grandfather.
Absolutely fascinating texture. Tacky top and sticky bottom. As the right smell

Here is the design. It is a modern graphic style Mizrach with zmanim and identified halachic times for Shacharit, Minchah, Ma'ariv (marked with earliest, latest, and ideal) with three stars at 72 minutes and additional symbolism for meditation to inspire kavanah.

Inherited carving tools my grandmother used. In the picture are a few of them.

While I never had much a chance to know her as she died when I was still really little, using these tools provide some connection to a person I understand was thoughtful and generous. Precision tools underscore that.

A G'mar Chatimah Tovah. May it be a year of learning, listening, and growing.

Last year I made this graphic and put it in a prominent location as a consistent reminder. Then I made a large change in my life to ensure I would not stand with regret this year.

This platform is quite remarkable right now as it is full of inclusive, supportive, outspoken individuals who are all artists in way or another. It is really pretty neat even if my sense of imposter syndrome feels a little greater than usual. Then a friend sends me this wonderful point of context:

First posts should be deep and meaningful... or cats. Fulfilling the mandate of the internet: here are pictures of cats.
