Well goodness. We aren't in our usual seats because we were stage managing Alabaster last night. Sometimes we move up - and sometimes we move down into the orchestra pit; a pro of having a conflict during a play rather than a musical apparently! #theatre #stagemanager

Props masterfully designed by the one and only Elizabeth, the Actors' Theatre Grand Rapids production of ALABASTER closes on Saturday. I'm thrilled with how well it has been received because it's tricky to describe! It's oh so good and we have a cast that just knocks it out of the park each night!

Coming from the land of giant musicals with dozens of cast members, never did I think I'd be quite so enamoured by a show with only four women in the cast, half of them playing goats. ALABASTER is one I will never forget. Pay what you want tickets are available at atgr.org. #theatre #stagemanager

There's nothing quite like being the first one to enter an empty theatre, just you and the ghost light, slowly bringing it to life with each door unlocked and each light switch flipped, knowing that in just a couple hours an audience will be laughing, brought to tears, and deep in contemplation.

Not only has it been since 2019 since I've stage managed here at Actors' Theatre, it's been that long since I've run my own lights when stage managing too. Right now I'm dealing with the wonderful roller coaster that is ALABASTER. Pay what you want tickets for the run are available at atgr.org.
