The Liberals lost the 1900 election for opposing the the Boer War. They refused to change their position and in 1906 won a huge landslide, unseating the Tory PM. Their leadership helped convince the public that the war wrong and were rewarded for doing so.

I was just advertised a pistol on YouTube! Shipped direct from China specifically to the UK for self-defence "in these dangerous times" that is "totally legal." WHAT THE HELL!
Followed the link, to an offer to buy a Glock 19 for £39! But it can only fire rubber bullets, so I'm sure that's fine...
