Today was a beautiful day to hike Eagle Creek in the Gorge. Saw one of my favorite species, dutchman’s breeches. It’s native to the eastern half of North America but has a super cool disjunct range in Washington, Oregon, and Idaho, mostly along the Columbia and its tributaries.

Hiked up Tom, Dick, and Harry on Sunday to get a good look at the mountain.
I’ve tried to find a recorded native name for her over the years, but haven’t found anything besides “Wy’east,” which as far as anyone can tell was just made up by some white dude. I’ll stick with “the mountain” for now.
