Wax your holes, people! Peg holes are effectively 100% end grain. Coat end grain with a high quality sealant like Heritage Natural Finishes liquid wax to slow down moisture and gas exchange allowing the wood fiber the chance to stretch before it tears. #storybook #timberframe #timber #joinery #tfg

Finishing is my favorite part. It's my last chance to interact with the timber, flatten a face, consider the quality of joinery, affect the look and feel of the material.. In this case a 3/8" chamfer stopped at joinery intersections and 100 grit belt sand. (Oiling comes next). #storybook #timber
