Years later, Tez joined Bo at Oregon and made an impact on offense for the Ducks–including catching a 77-yard catch and run against the USC Trojans in front of his biological and adoptive family.

After learning of Tez’s difficult situation, the Nix family offered to have him stay with them. The moment Tez stepped into the Nix household, he knew he had found a second home in his adoptive family.

Adopted at just 3 weeks old, Flaherty was raised by a single mom in Burbank, California. From the moment he could hold a baseball, his mom became his biggest supporter which fueled his dream to make it to the MLB.

Tragedy struck early for brothers Mustapha and Ansu Kemoh when they lost their parents to the 2015 Ebola outbreak in Sierra Leone. They waited years at the Dawar Islamic Orphanage, holding on to the dream that one day they would be with family again.
