16 y/o male artist. My mind wanders, and some of the things in it get lost sometimes. I draw too by the way if that wasn't clear.
Most avoid because it’s a “sensitive topic”. Yet, we go over things like the holocaust and other horrible activity that was focused on a certain demographic.
It shouldn’t be something touchy, or feared to view. Guess people don’t like looking at bad history they’re tied to. At least nation-wise.

My most blatant example is one of my oldest mains, Nick! Had him around since 2013, but really came into who he is today in 2014 ie the first image!

I see that, although I wish I was as cool as anything I draw to be honest. You can always fake it till you become it though, if you put enough effort into working for and believing it.

Most people mutilate, obscure, and straight up distort their faces when they do a self portrait. I'm glad that you did yours beautifully and honestly as if it were any other project. Makes me reconsider my direction with most of my ideas....

Then you gotta live with the fact that the other potential option could have been, if not, WAS better than what you decided to try.
