I use a maximalist approach. I like glazes best when they are layered, I usually dip them in at least t4 different glazes in dynamic angles. Of course you need to be careful about it getting to thick and running on the shelf. It's totally unknown what will happen

I saw a video about a month ago, it's much worse than just that.

This piece was made to reference a molecular model of a medicine a local dr was trying to make to aid in recovery after a heart attack. The piece fell off a pedestal with the base mostly destroyed but I was able to reinvent it. I like it so much more now and it seems appropriate.
