I hope this isn’t a case where a competitor acquires it just to run it into the ground.
I wish it was Cloudfare instead of Vercel.

and finally Drum roll... 🥁
7. Hono 🏆

My new favorite framework to replace Express! 🎉 I’m obsessed with the syntax—so clean, so elegant. ✨ Setup? A breeze. 🌬️ I went with Vite for build/dev, and it’s been flawless. The DX? Absolutely amazing. ❤️

6. Nitro / h3

As a Nuxt dev, I’m already a big fan. Nitro is basically the server side of Nuxt, and it’s crazy powerful. 💪 The docs, DX, utils, unjs ecosystem, and the Nuxt community? Top notch. 🌟 This is 100% my pick for any large-scale app. 🚀

5. Adonis

Way better than Fastify and honestly feels like a modern rival to Nest.js. 💥 The docs? Chef’s kiss. 👌 But for my use case as a server middleware... yeah, it’s overkill for me. 🚀🔧

4. Nest

Super mature framework, and I love that it uses Express or Fastify under the hood. But for my needs? Total overkill. 🚀🔨 Sometimes less is more, ya know?

3. Fastify

At first, the syntax felt super familiar, and I was like, "Okay, this might work." But then... setting it up? Total confusion. 😵‍💫 The docs felt kinda messy, tbh. They definitely need some love. 📄✨

2. Koa

No dark mode in the docs? Yeah, that’s a dealbreaker. Closed. Sorry, Koa. 🌒📖

1. Express-ts

I started with this because I still love how minimal Express.js is. But honestly? Adding a build step, setting up a bundler, installing all the types, and importing them kinda killed the vibe. 🚧🛠️
The simplicity just wasn’t there anymore. 😕
