“We cannot move into a reality we cannot describe. As long as we let the establishment set the language agenda, we will be imprisoned in the tiny, pedestrian world of consumerism and schlocky values that the establishment has prepared for us. Instead, create your own roadshow.” - Terence McKenna

In the final analysis, only one quote truly matters—may it serve as our guiding light for the years ahead:

Life is full of the unexpected and, often, the heartbreaking. It’s a cliché because it’s true: this world desperately needs more love, patience, and understanding. Chasing your dreams won’t heal the emptiness of living solely for others' recognition. Look within; all of humanity depends on it.

“You don’t replace rainforests with pastures. You don’t censor books. You don’t lean on people who make gender choices different from yours. The purpose of being human is to complexify reality even more. To hand on a more diverse, complicated, multiphasic universe to our children.” - Terence McKenna

I sometimes wonder what Beethoven would think if he knew his 9th played in a series of beeps when I shut off my dryer. Would he call it a brilliant commentary on civilization's decline, or would he shrug and say: “Well, at least someone is still using my music to signal the end of something.”?

In a world that often feels consumed by destruction, heartache, and the unjust triumphs of the worst among us, please hold onto this: you are loved. Your presence matters. Your optimism is a guiding light, essential to the moral fabric of humanity. Your heart is a quiet revolution.

"There is only one corner of the universe you can be certain of improving, and that's your own self" - Aldous Huxley

Writing a book involves tapping into the unconscious, laying bare the hidden parts of yourself, gaining self-awareness, and creating something greater than the sum of its parts.

"Listen, the next revolution is gonna be a revolution of ideas." - Bill Hicks

Don’t let the regime silence the individual. In times of change, the collective can overshadow personal freedom, but our individuality drives progress, creativity, and the courage to challenge what's wrong.

Americans must confront the questions we’ve long avoided: What are we, really? Who have we become in the wreckage of our own making? Are we still capable of goodness, or have we traded it for something far less? If we can’t answer these honestly, we may find there’s nothing left of us to salvage.

The greatest trick authoritarians pull is convincing you the oppressed were ever in charge. They scream about imaginary tyranny to justify the real thing—until silence is all that’s left.

Speaking as a non-native Texan, my state loves to preach about freedom while selectively enforcing control—especially over women’s bodies. Nothing says "liberty" like a state that claims to hate government overreach but is more than happy to legislate what women can and can’t do.

“The world is made of language. It shimmers and recasts itself and becomes the thing we say it is. The mind is the co-creator in the process of reality through acts of language. Language is true magic. All so-called primitive people know you sing the world into existence.” - Terence McKenna

The things we chase hardest end up meaning the least. Once you realize that, it really feels like waking up from a dream.

“People do not take enough mushrooms. They take pissant amounts and then they claim they’re initiants. You must take a measured five dried grams on an empty stomach. When you see what that is, you’ll realize you weren’t even camped in the atrium—you were camped in the driveway.” - Terence McKenna

I want to celebrate The Kids in the Hall, a show that shaped my sense of humor and love for absurdist comedy in the late ’80s and early ’90s. They defied convention, embraced fluid identities, and made me laugh harder than I thought possible. May their legacy live on forever.

Each of us carries a neurotic, infantile part of ourselves that avoids the pain we bury deep in our unconscious. Surrender to it. Dive in and let your unconscious lead, revealing what it needs to show. The primacy of direct experience will prove that the true universe is always within your reach.

Francoise Hardy often pops up on my playlist, adding that perfect blend of grace and introspection. Her voice is effortlessly captivating—soft, elegant, and imbued with a quiet depth that lingers like an unspoken thought.

Give me Francoise Hardy afterworld
So I can swoon eternally
