The Five By Five Interview with Kia Abdullah I first met Kia Abdullah at Bute Noir a few years ago, when I was asked to chair a panel with her and Helen FitzGerald, both of whom had written novels that featured sisters at the heart of the story - which I found amusing as I am an only child... It turns out that both Kia and Helen have a LOT of siblings, including lots of sisters, so that broke the ice nicely, and I didn't need half the questions I'd prepared because they both had plenty to say about their books and the experience of being sisters that fed into their writing.
