Follow along as I make silly mistakes while learning Python. Arsenal fan, currently in 🇮🇪 studying business school things.
12(9)/100: Building a silent auction system using dictionaries, functions and loops. Still can't wrap my head around creation and calling of functions, in this case specifically about finding the highest bid, but understood enough to get 95% of the assignment correct. Onwards we go! #100DaysOfCode

11(9)/100: Bit of a break but back at it today with Dictionaries. Small and steady progress being made. #100DaysOfCode

10(8)/100: Attempted coding a Caesar Cipher and failed. Now I know why I didn't choose to pursue engineering growing up. Still get a lot of the challenge right except for loops; yet to learn how that works and the effect of indentations. I'll get there, surely but slowly. #Python #100DaysOfCode

9(8)/100: Been a long day and could only manage half a lesson today, splitting day eight into two, watch out for a Caesar Cipher get tomorrow. Learning been great though, function with inputs and finally positional & keyword arguments. Such cool concepts, loving it 🤩 #Python #100DaysOfCode

8(7)/100: More and more thinking coming to the fore, now I'm beginning to understand the sometimes-acutely logical reasoning and thinking I've come across in all my programmer friends 😂 #Python continues to be fun. On we go #100DaysOfCode

7(6)/100: Oooof. Contemplated pulling all my hair out today in solving Reeborg's World's maze through new learnings in defining and calling functions as well as while loops in #Python. But, I got there: 3 hours longer than what was needed. Onwards! #100DaysOfCode

6(5)/100: Today was a toughie, took a lot longer to get through the final project of creating a random password generator on #Python but I'm glad I did; for loops, range() and shuffling added to the arsenal. Onwards we go! #100DaysOfCode

5/100 which is actually 4/100: Modules, lists, nested lists and finally, creating a rock, paper, scissors game to test 'em all out. Much easier than yesterday's but a lot more fun 🤩 More and more, I look forward to my daily #Python evenings. #100DaysOfCode

4/100 but actually 3.5/100: Continued a lot of the conditional statements. Took an obscene amount of time over a simple mistake and laughed at the silliness of it once I did figure it out 😂 Looking forward to tomorrow's class already. #100DaysOfCode

3/100: Day 3 of learning #Python from scratch took longer than expected and I've had to split it into two days, look out for a 3.5 tomorrow. Conditional statements (if, else and elif) was the priority today. Took me a while to wrap my head around it but got there in the end. #100DaysOfCode

Absolutely. I'm taking Dr Angela Yu's Udemy course on the subject. Looking forward to it daily. She did recommend PyCharm CE, like you. I wouldn't know where to start otherwise and this helps. Thanks. 🫡

2/100: Day 2 of learning #Python from scratch was a lot more fun. Data types, type conversions, mathematical operations and finally, creating a tip calculator as a final project. #100DaysOfCode

No particular reason, purely an upskilling pursuit. I've wanted to learn programming for a while and everyone speaks of Python highly - especially when it comes to the AI-related world. I want to see where this will take me. Any tips would be much appreciated. 😅
