Third, looking at the rest of the schedule the next 2 games are against what should be "get right" teams. UCF should be the next challenge and will give a better idea of where UNC is. Optimistically a 7-5 or 6-6 reg. season is best case, worse if there's no change to the offensive strategy.

Second, we have to remember that the UNC defense was not good last year so even with the changes through the portal that's hard for any coach to fix, but it looked like tackling was optional for a few players. I expect that to change, but you could tell that some of the DB's were over matched.
