I tend to explorer mode RP with a good friend where it's more focused on the history of the location and the commentary of it with the bonus of expanding on interpersonal relationships.

Honestly, go for it. Sounds like a unique venue idea that's applicable to many different scenarios. 👍✨

I could definitely see one of my many rp characters visiting a mail-like setting, and I'd bet there would be plenty of other people who'd feel the same.

Venues are fun when you go with friends. But I totally get Cha. it's just difficult to find people sometimes because the 1v1 roleplayers don't usually hang out in an advertised designated location. I go to venues just to find roleplayers who might be interested in that kind of roleplay.

Not throwing shade at any roleplayers who like to use FFXIV as their fun sandbox. People should rp what they like.

I just happen to be a roleplayer who prefers roleplaying with the given lore, so I get where you're coming from. Ishgard is the last place I expect to be accepting of homosexuality.

I've noticed there are 2 types of RPers.

-People who use ffxiv as a projection to rp their fantasy (being promiscuous, homeowner, etc)
-People who rp a character that fits in the lore of the world.

There is some overlap, but some RPers will ignore lore or logic if it gets in the way of their fun.
