It was a continuing resolution that was passed. The CR just continues the current budget so the govt can stay open until a final budget is passed. No cuts are approved yet. Again, it’s shitty for sure, but maybe the better choice of the two because we still have courts to slow him down.

I’m not so sure. I think he knows that it’s a lose lose but Trump and Elon want a shutdown. It gives full power to the executive branch. It ends the federal court cases being litigated against them. They will get to blame the Dems and they get to create chaos and declare an emergency.
