Study showing that the 'over-representation of trans boys' is an artifact of perception caused by differences in age of referral, with a drop in referrals for pubescent trans girls until after reaching the age of majority.

Figure titled: Gender service referrals across the lifespan, plotting % total referrals by age group to the Melbourne and Amsterdam cohorts, broken down by assigned sex at birth and grouped by decades (less than ten, ten to nineteen, et cetera). The graph consistently shows across the two cohorts that while the percent referral rate for AFAB individuals starts somewhere near even in the under-ten bracket, it is peaking in the ten to nineteen year bracket at 70%, and then dropping off to below 50% in the greater-than 20 bracket and trending downward across subsequent age brackets ending at ~20% in the over 50 bracket.
