I hope you're right. A lack of support is certainly important, but we've also seen him push things forward despite opposition. Polls are useful, but the real test is whether the system can truly deliver results.

That's right. The apparent "peace" is actually just an agreement between powerful forces to suspend open conflict in order to consolidate power behind the scenes.
