We asked people who experienced "sweeps" of homeless encampments to write about it in their own words.

In Portland, Teresa Stratton told us about how her husband’s ashes were taken in a removal:

Thanks @lawrenceodonnell.msnbc.com - “Donny 2 Dolls” is an apt description. My husband and I can finally find something to snicker about amidst the horror of all of this.

The Trump administration literally just cut the contract for ongoing audits of the Prison Rape Elimination Act, the extremely bipartisan law (unanimously passed in 2003) that requires jails and prisons to take rape seriously and adopt policies designed to make it less likely to happen.
From @reuters.com: The Trump administration has canceled hundreds of law enforcement grants that funded everything from services for mental health care for police officers to support programs for victims of crime and sexual assault

old great aunt prove her citizenship to vote in rural georgia, this definitely isn’t reminiscent of anything in the american past
🧵 There are a lot of misleading claims out there about the SAVE Act. Let me set the record straight: I voted for the SAVE Act for the simple reason that American elections are for Americans. Requiring proof of citizenship to register to vote is common sense.

Children's Health Defense (CHD), founded by HHS Secretary RFK Jr, has created an imposter webpage that closely mimics a CDC webpage on Autism and Vaccines. It is nefariously seeding disinformation by presenting a seemingly balanced argument on the science supporting and refuting autism and vaccines.
