The game is still fun despite the dated graphics, though that could just be pure nostalgia talking. KOTOR 2 has 3rd-person pausable real-time combat with a ton of force abilities, melee/ranged weapons, armor, and explosives. Hits, misses, and damage are calculated by modifiers and RNJesus. 🧵6/7

The characters, dialogue, and story are great as well. I don't want to spoil anything but I will share these two screenshots from my current playthrough. Atton Rand, voiced by Nicky Katt and pictured right, likes to reply with a wisecrack or snide remark fairly often. 🧵5/7

KOTOR was my introduction to the D20 system (I'm an avid D&D player now), and KOTOR 2 built upon the foundation from the first to make a better player experience. From the interface to the animation, everything felt smoother and more responsive. 🧵4/7

It definitely helped that they were founded by 5 ex-Black Isle employees. If you didn't know, Black Isle Studios and Interplay are responsible for Fallout, Icewind Dale, Planescape: Torment, and Baldur's Gate. 🧵3/7
