One correction/clarification: Trans members who took the voluntary separation option instead of waiting to be forced out were guaranteed 6 months of continued medical coverage through Tricare's TAMP program. Only standard or Voluntary Separations have been processed so far, forced discharges havent

As replied to below, I was not arguing in favor of AI. That wasn't even a consideration of mine, as you didn't include that context in the original post. I was under the impression that you were saying any VA is better than no VA

Sorry I guess I missed the context. The original post said nothing about using AI to voice instead of actual people, it was just about not hiring VAs

bad voice acting can ruin one. When I start doing actual video game dev work, I sure as hell am unlikely to do the VA myself and won't be able to hire anyone to do it. As much as I would love to, it just isn't realistic.

I can't speak to big studios, but from an indie perspective I absolutely get it. Voice Actors need to be paid for their time and effort, and small studios may not be able to afford that nor be confident in their ability to do the voice acting themselves. Good voice acting can elevate a game but...
