You taught me to start using the word Luddite as a aspiration and compliment instead of an insult, and in a time of professional and financial stress reminded me 'a soul is worth more than work or gold'.

Biological, technical, financial, social… all complex systems have a point where something gets pushed too far and everything falls to crap. The scary thing is that it’s often very hard to know what those points are - one day the system just fails to restore itself and that’s how where the limit is.

This. I keep looking into my daughter’s eyes and think that while the world rn isn’t as kind as the one I grew up in (and I was an 7yo Muslim kid when 9/11 happened so that’s saying something) I’ll be dammed if I’m not going to do what I can to make it better

lol maybe, but forcing out the FAA head on like the first day and asking all staff if they wanted to go on gardening leave probably didn’t help.
Flight safety is a hard problem and regulations are written in blood. If you can, I’d avoid flying in or through the US for the next while.

I mean it’s not so much that it’s a terrible idea, it’s just blatantly illegal. All these techbois have ‘move fast and break things’ brainworms and now they’re breaking the government.

I hope you all sort this thing out. Not American but the US is tied up infrastructurally in basically all the art and culture I actually like - and the world’s going to be a dimmer place for a while without yous doing that.
