The blackmail supposition seems unnecessary. The more details that come out, including Virginia Guiffre’s posthumous memoir, the more it seems that powerful/rich/prominent men paid and patronized Epstein in return for access to the kind of sexual libertinism they thought they deserved.

Quite true. In fact the ‘no one cares’ idea may be another Russian effort to influence our thinking. There’s also the Epstein files.
