Definitely watch some videos on it before you pick it up. I payed full price for it and feel like I got ripped off. The production is gorgeous, but the gameplay is way too simple for my taste.

It’s the animal scoring mechanism in Castles of Burgundy with pretty re:wood pieces, not much more.

Yep, I snagged Dungeon Lords because I loved Dungeon Petz so much. It’s a wildly different game though, incredibly unique (like everything Vlaada does) but also much, much more complicated.

How do you like the 3D tiles? We got the fancy reprint too, and got everything but those tiles. It seemed like a little too much.

But it’s my wife’s favorite game, so…

The thing with Mage Knight is it takes a LOT of investment up front to figure it out, but once you do, you’re golden. Each hand is a delightful puzzle to solve.

I exclusively play it solo though. I don’t think sitting around waiting for other people to come up with the perfect turn would be fun.

Dungeon Lords is so good! Make sure you give Dungeon Petz a go, too!

Dungeon Petz is a favorite of ours! It’s definitely a heavier game, but the light theme makes it a blast.

I’m a sucker for heavy games. Mage Knight is my all-time favorite, and it’s why Vlaada’s my favorite designer. Definitely not for everybody, it’s a lifestyle game.
