I remember making camera obscuras with my class when I started teaching to demonstrate this. I still think it’s just a magic trick 😂

I’m a headteacher and I run our (primary school) library on a Friday. I love it, I get to know what books they are reading, make recommendations and have beautiful conversations about books. But I’m no substitute for a librarian who can do that every day.

Completely agree. It’s a vicious cycle—financial instability leads to negative press, which then discourages international students. Without them, the funding gap just grows.

Flotsam is a beautiful picture book in which a boy finds an old camera. It draws the boy into a visual underwater journey where he discovers unexpected links spanning continents and time. It’s really rather gorgeous and worth a look x
