The #Echinocereus are in full bloom right now so I'm busy making hybrids. These three all got crossed together today, and I think they'll have beautiful babies!

#Epiphyllum 'Clarity's Abraxas' is blooming today! It's one of my few giant Epis. Crossed it with '30 Dreams'.

Yesterday, a friend and I hiked out to look at a natural hybrid population of Erythronium hendersonii and E. citrinum in the Applegate Valley. The plants were in full bloom, and the diversity of colors and forms was amazing!

Two years ago, I made an attempt at creating my own Epiphyllum hybrid with "off season" blooms. This here is the first of the seedlings to flower. Unfortunately, it doesn't have the fragrance or color of either parent, so I'll probably let it go. Either way, I'm still proud to see it here!

My teens were full of loneliness, angst, and a wish to break free.
My twenties were a shocking introduction to the outside world and adult life full of anxiety.
My thirties now feel like personal acceptance of who I am and what I'm supposed to do in this life 🪷

As many of you know, I'm absolutely in love with the genus #Schlumbergera, and today, my all-time favorite yellow/orange clone is in bloom. I had to take it outside for a picture in natural light.

The second #Daffodil is now in bloom.
N. cantabricus var. foliosus
These days, I'm trying to intentionally touch back into what the earth has to teach us in trying times. These #flowers are a reminder that beauty can be found even in the coldest, darkest periods. Resist ICE and bloom again friends!

#Opuntia fragilis is the only native prickly pear in our area. It gets its name from how "fragile" the pads are. This trait is one way the plant propagates itself. Every pad will root and begin a new plant. The recent heavy snow seems to be helping knock them off... #DryEarthNursey #cactus #xeric

#Narcissus romieuxii mesatlanticus is probably my favorite species of #daffodil. It's a tiny little geophyte from Morocco that reliably blooms for me in late January or early February. It also requires zero water here!

It's snowing like crazy right now, and it's supposed to continue for quite a while...

#Epiphyllum 'Thirty Dreams' is blooming in the greenhouse today. It's definitely in the top 3 of my favorite "off-season" bloomers. The fragrance is intense!

One of my favorite cactus plants from 2024, which I used quite a bit in my hybridization program, is this Echinocereus klapperi x reichenbachii. It was one of the last to flower so it will be important in breeding for late-blooming hybrids!
