Yeah. I used to believe 'free speech & open debate are always good'... but I can't reconcile that with the tens of thousands of X users grifting a living off lying & endless arguments.

Saddam Maduro is a very bad hombre & we don't want the fentanyl speedboats to be a mushroom-cloud.

You're a bass-drum-beating humble-bragger but we, the hoi polloi, love you for your generosity with praise.

Only je-ne-sais-quoi top-crusters get invited to alone-in-a-room-dog-petting parties, you big humble-bragger.

The 1st account, @IvankaNews_ , based out of Nigeria, has a million followers. Depending on the amount of engagement, Twitter is paying it at least $3K-10K/month.

I say the 2025 elections were mostly fought over whether Trump & Maga are doing a shit job on economic issues & the fascist immigration crackdown.

You say... it was cause Americans "are tired of terfs".

Yeah, ok. Whatever.

Muting. Have fun.

Why not just call them what they want to be called?

Given that trans folks & their supporters are losing the war for US public opinion, it's in our interest to be seen as favoring civil debate.
November 21, 2025 at 5:33 PM
Pulling them out of my ass.

If you'd like to argue it's more like 97.5% than it is 99%... find someone else to argue with.
November 21, 2025 at 5:29 PM
I doubt Will or 99% of folks agreeing w/Will say that.

More like Trans supporters who denounce the term 'Trans Rights Activists' but refuse to quit using 'TERF' & Palestinian supporters who claim Hamas didn't actually kill Israeli civilians on Oct 7, it was the IDF following the Hannibal Directive

>90% of the people on this site call out misgendering & <1% of self-identified leftists on this site misgender.

99% of that 1%? Accounts w/<10 followers that start flame-wars about everything.

Block & move on.

Gotta keep your rape-positive-doodz audience happy so the views & subscriptions keep coming in.

Merrick Garland would disapprove of this unseemly rush to judge the cat.

Rogan has occasionally showed self-awareness about his role in electing Trump giving us mass ICE arrests, etc...

I don't think Joe has ever showed regret for platforming insane conspiracy theorists. Joe knows insane conspiracies = big listener numbers.

Agreed.

The Fox News version of Lia's story is bumper-sticker simple. People have heard it 1000x.

The case against is nuanced & depends on counterfactuals 'If Lia hadn't been on HRT, her 2021 men's rankings would've been higher'.

Pivot to an issue where the narrative isn't set.
November 4, 2025 at 1:55 AM
I didn't include her 2020 season results because I haven't seen them.

Did she finish higher in the rankings than in her 2021 season?

Her 1650 finishes pre-HRT help the case for trans athletes... but I don't see any way it'll win over people decided by the '65th to 1st. 554th to 5th' narrative.
November 3, 2025 at 5:04 PM
"As long as trans women finish higher vs women than they do vs men..."

By 'vs men', I mean, prior to HRT.
November 3, 2025 at 4:56 PM
Back-burner sports. As long as trans women finish higher vs women than they do vs men, it's unpersuasive to 85% of US.

Play offense on issues where the compelling stories are on our side: trans youth saved from suicide by gender-affirming care, the freedom to be yourself w/out govt interference...

The Fox narrative is baked-in. 66% agree. 15% disagree. Will explaining %-difference-in-times change that?

No. Compelling anecdotes that reinforce existing biases often beat data: the Willie Horton ad, mistrust of masking/mRNA vaccines.

Your link compared % difference between her times & best-times-in-country, men & women.

Valid metric. Good evidence. But nobody measures races by % difference. We measure by ranking.

66% of Americans already buy the Fox News narrative, which frames it by ranking: '65th to 1st. 554th to 5th'.

Thanks for this link. Didn't notice it til now amongst the 100+ replies.

Lia had the 9th fastest time in the 1000 yd free & the 29th in the 1650, in 2021.

1000 yd isn't swum in the NCAA championships, so best swimmers don't focus training on it. 1650 is, so her finish in that is important.

Americans often believe a compelling story that contradicts facts. Especially if the story plays into existing biases.

The Willie Horton ad. Mistrust of masking & mRNA vaccines.

Compelling anecdotes often beat data.

Read Arendt on how propaganda renders people incapable of ID-ing truth.
