Hey so there are some jobs that people with brains should just *always* do. If you use AI to write a sermon or offer pastoral care you should foooor sure not be allowed behind a pulpit.
My dad sent me home with the AI-themed July/Aug issue of Christianity Today, to see what I think of it. Initially, I’m struck by this multi-spread add for gloo.ai, AI “rooted in Biblical principles” 🥴 It writes sermons, offers ministerial guidance, and “protects your content!”

Another way of thinking about this, though, is that no matter what is happening in places and with people I can't control, I still get the comfort of a cup of coffee. The dog still needs to be walked and I can do that. I get to do work that connects me with people and expands my mind. Even still.
The cognitive dissonance of getting up every morning and making coffee and walking the dog and going to meetings and answering emails and wondering what to make for dinner while there is a real live actual coup d’etat happening is BONKERS
