tldr im very happy with the switch, don't think i'm going back anytime soon, especially not considering how win11 is looking right now lol

there's still some work to do once its all setup obviously but between the official packages and the AUR there is no shortage of good software and i was able to find all i needed without any issue

arch has such a reputation of being "the hard distro" or whatever but honestly it's been extremely chill, archinstall does all the spooky stuff for you and there's still plenty of options and toggles in there so you don't lose that much control over a fully manual install ..
