In 1884 Carrie Carson sewed two taxidermied chipmunks into a crazy quilt she then donated to raise money for a hospital. The nun who won it declined to keep it (can't relate). Carrie ultimately gave it to her brother as a wedding gift, and now it's at the Missouri Historical Museum in St. Louis.

These two paintings are considered to be the most avant garde among Caillebotte's works; they look like photos taken from a balcony. Chicago Art Institute's Caillebotte exhibit; well worth a visit.

This lamassu is part of a recreation of an interior court in the palace of Sargon II, Assyrian king in 721 BCE.

He lives at the Institute for the Study of Ancient Cultures, one of the best musuems in Chicago and free to boot!
