Just realized that sounds like a cheap joke. There are studies that suggest Gen X's childhood exposure affected both our intelligence and mental health.

Leaded gasoline.

This is what I'm thinking! Someone should make a list of all the leftist goals he seems to be achieving.

I took so long replying you'd already addressed it! Should of is interesting - it's not grammatical, but I think it's moving in the direction of an idiom.

Oh, like none of you ever got bored making houses in Sims and just said, "screw it, one big room."

I'm glad I'm not the only one. If only this genius had been around in the 30s!

Are there no textbooks written by humans? Why would AI be better at those things?

Two guys, surely?

Obviously this is completely subjective, but I thought Disney+ took some real risks and often it paid off. WandaVision and F&WS both had serious emotional heft, and I loved Ms Marvel.

I found what appears to be a court document, although I don't know the provenance or content. Does it contain any helpful information? i2.res.24o.it/pdf2010/S24/...

It is definitely mysterious. I couldn't find any other reporting on it (just, as you say, relatively cheap eBay offers) but I would be interested to know more.

If Google's translation is correct, it says that the man had other papers indicating the bond had been appraised that way. I'd be curious for more detail, but at the very least it sounds like the government didn't come up with the number.

Okay, got it. Hmm. Pope Francis, Bishop Bob, but not Priest Doug (although Father Doug). Wonder if there's a linguistic term or usage rule or just a vibes thing? Vibes thing is fine, of course - I know how English be.

Clarifying q: Prime Minister is (will be?) his title, right? It's not a factual error, but a usage one in that "we just don't say it like that"? I'm sure there are other cases where "Title Name" isn't used, but they're not springing to mind right now.

The header does say "ozone (also called smog)". Maybe it's like newspaper headlines, and the writer had nothing to do with it.

Pay the bill with your soul, maybe? It's lacking the idiom, though. Maybe it's the other end that needs fixing: you sell your soul to the devil or you stay home. Or both: you ante with your soul or you don't play.

And she's wearing Cruella's dress? I feel like there was some miscommunication about what was going to be modelled.

My father was working with computers in the late 70s and was am early adopter through most of my life. But when he got sick, it became harder for him to learn new systems and everyday living left less energy for it. I became much more resistant to ux changes for the sake of shininess.

This kind of stuff drives me crazy because we know better. Often the same company will have spent millions to study how humans use things only to completely ignore it when they design on a fancy redesign.

Truly an artist of alt text. The photo makes me smile and then the alt text does it again.

Sorry if someone has already mentioned this, but I'd like to plug The Hero and the Crown and The Blue Sword by Robin McKinley. They're sequential but apparently the Blue Sword was published first which makes the other one a prequel, but I only just learned that and always thought H&C was first.

I remember now how well they lit up the 2-story living room in my college housing. I didn't appreciate it then, but damn that was a strong light.

On top of the smug failure of imagination implied, isn't the necessary implication of his argument that incompetent people deserve it? Or does he think these stories are all made up?

"All of the people not agreeing with me are stupid or evil" is a sign of intellectual laziness and I refuse to believe it. But sometimes it feels like they're *not helping*.
